That’s not exactly true. There were a few topics that came to mind.

And, while I can almost always draw parallels to life and work and marketing, words weren’t coming.

Then I remembered a fantastic tip from a writing class.

Look out the window.

How does that help?

I have no idea. I’m not a professional writer as you’ve probably learned by now, but I think looking through a window reduces the noise.

I think it takes distractions and turns them into focal points.

I think it gives us a freedom to go deep. To really focus. To find words for our observations and feelings.

You probably know where I’m going with this…

For those that wonder if you can use AI authentically, thinking of it as a window may be helpful.

If I use AI for content, I rarely use more than 25% of it. I more often use AI for finding the perfect Excel formula or to debug an automation in a workflow.

There’s a lot of ways to use AI without using it for writing or content. But it can also be a really good “window” for whatever it is you are working on.

Some prompts that may be fun to try:

“My business is in the ________ industry. What are 3 things even experts in this field might not consider?”

“If I were to survey my customers on a consistent basis what are ways to craft the survey to get the most insight with the fewest questions?”

“We’re looking for unique ways to earn new leads. What are 5 ways that we probably haven’t considered.”

See what new windows it opens for you.

(I found the best responses to those in OpenAI’s ChatGPT of the three I tested.)

Tools and Training

We were recently introduced to Hugging Face - the AI App Directory. Still a little speechless on what all this can cover, but have fun exploring.

Agents are all the rage. We did an update in February reviewing a couple of ways to consider and program agents. We promised a part 2, and we’ll drop that invitation next week. If you haven’t watched part 1 yet, here’s your chance to brush up before we go deeper. Guarantee: you’ll leave able to program a basic chat agent - or we’ll do it with you.
