With my teams and myself, I share a constant reminder that we should be “living and learning”.

If we’re not learning, we’re not growing, and if we’re not growing… well, you know the morbid rest of that phrase.

Yesterday, I hosted a webinar about a tool I use in both my businesses and with most of my clients - GoHighLevel. It was my first webinar using new webinar technology.

You probably also know where this is going.

We did all the things to test and prepare, but as anyone that’s done webinars knows, you can’t fully test until you are fully live because, if for no other reason, you’re bound to have missed something on the checklist.

Sound - check.
Screen share - check.
Cohost in - check.
Can see the chat - check.

It was after my second “if you have any questions, please just drop them in the chat” that I realized something was off.

I’d set the webinar up to only allow admin/host chats!

For someone that feeds off the energy of questions and interactions, I have no idea how I set or forgot this.

So I muted everyone.

The actual presentation went great, and I’ve gotten amazing feedback on how much was covered in 50 minutes, but it was a lot of detail and I’m sure there were great questions to be heard.

We gave an alternative - to email the questions in, but it was too late to be able to answer live.

My point of sharing? 1) test everything using a proper checklist and 2) give yourself grace when you make an error - most of us aren’t saving lives and mistakes can be remedied with review and a commitment to constant improvement.

We learned, and we lived to tell the tale.

I thought it would be fun to share the checklist I’ve now asked ChatGPT to create for me. Here’s the chat, and here’s the Google Doc I copied and pasted that response into so we can make it better over time.
