the Friday edition - the one during Business Mastery

You probably care about business. You own, lead, or contribute to the growth of one or more of them.

I love business. I love talking about business. I love helping businesses grow.

And I ESPECIALLY love being around others that love those things too.

So, this week, I’m in West Palm Beach, FL to do just that. To immerse myself in a 5 day seminar on all aspects of business growth - led by Tony Robbins and his incredible team.

Some topics include:

  • Psychology (80% of success sits here)

  • Growth Formulas and Tools

  • Marketing & Sales (David Meerman Scott so far)

  • Finance, and more Finance (I love numbers and numbers love me - thanks Keith Cunningham)

  • Strategic Innovation

  • Goal Setting

  • And it's also a big dance party.

I'll share more next week, but here are a few key takeaways so far:

* We need others. Others that understand what we are going through, what we are building, and how the business world works.

* We need to ask and answer key questions about our business and our clients and our plans then build a map to get there that spans all aspects of business - not just the ones we're good at. And we need to check in every week.

* We need a scorecard - like the dashboard of our cars, we need to know the 5-6 measures that should be checked constantly (at least weekly, and maybe more frequently) and know what to do with if the warning light comes on - improving our optics and our response time.

What I like about the Business Mastery approach is that it's a bit like boot camp with expectations that businesses will implement the important distinctions quickly. Even though I know and do all three of these, the gap between doer and expert can mean a big difference in rewards.
